Your racks are ready to play — but read this first! 💚

Every Bird & Bamboo rack set is handcrafted and custom painted by us right here in North Carolina. A little extra care—especially during the first 30 days—will help keep your racks looking beautiful for many mahj nights to come.

1. Apply Your Clear Stickers BEFORE Your First Game

Before playing, place one clear sticker on each PUSHER magnet.

You do NOT need stickers on the rack magnets.

There are 6 clear stickers on the shiny side of the paper slip that was paper-clipped to the care card inside your box.

Our paint is very durable, but paint doesn't adhere to metal as strongly as it does to wood. The clear stickers create a protective barrier where the magnets connect and help reduce the risk of the painted finish chipping.

Please apply these stickers before using your pushers.

2. Your Paint Will Continue to Cure for Up to 30 Days

Your racks are ready to use when they arrive—no need to wait to play!

However, the painted finish will continue to cure and harden for up to 30 days.

During this curing period, please handle your racks and pushers with a little extra TLC. Avoid banging, dropping, scraping, or roughly stacking them, as the finish is more susceptible to damage while it continues to harden.

After the curing period, your finish will be significantly more durable—but these are still handcrafted, painted pieces and should always be treated with care.

Friends don't let friends play rough with their racks. 😉

3. Store Your Pushers in Their Foam Sleeves

When you're finished playing, place each pusher back into its foam sleeve and store it inside the provided canvas bag.

This is especially important during the 30-day curing period and helps protect the painted surfaces from rubbing, scratching, and chipping between games.

4. Real Wood Has Real Character

Every Bird & Bamboo rack set is handcrafted from real wood, which means no two sets will be exactly alike.

You may notice subtle variations in the wood grain, texture, knots, or other small natural imperfections. These characteristics are part of the beauty of working with natural wood and make every set unique.

Natural variations that do not affect the functionality of your racks are not considered defects.

Damage, Returns & Replacements

Because these pieces are handcrafted and painted, damage caused by improper use, storage, or failure to follow the care instructions above is not covered.

Returns and exchanges are accepted on unused sets and are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

If your set arrives with a defect or is damaged during shipping, please reach out to us. We'll happily replace it at no cost.
